Online Collaboration and Video Conferencing Tools

Below you will find services that are offered, supported and contractually secured by UZH's Central IT and that meet the requirements of data protection law.

• Microsoft Teams (Manuals/ Data Protection)
• Zoom (Manuals/ Data Protection)

Note that these services may not be used for strictly confidential business or for meetings subject to professional secrecy (e.g., MeF modules, psychologist supervisions).

Suitable alternatives must be used for such sensitive information (e.g. mymeeting.ch; see also the list from the data protection officer for further alternatives) .

The use of other online tools that are not supported by the IT department and are not contractually secured may entail considerable legal risks. Please do not use them without consulting us first (privacy@rud.uzh.ch).

If you are of the opinion that a certain online tool is indispensable for your work, we would ask you to justify this accordingly in your inquiry to us (in particular, to what extent the recommended solutions are not sufficient for your purpose).
